Count Down 'Til Christmas

I just love Christmas time. It's the cold weather, bright lights and great food that gets me going every year!

This year for Christmas, the Jones girls have it going on! We are truly living by the "your wish is my command" policy! If you go ahead and state what you would like for Christmas...there is a 99% chance you will get it. H has already told me 3 things that he wants. Guess what, I'm buying them when I take a quick trip to MS to see the fam. I mean, why wait?? Mark it off your list!

I buy Christmas gifts year round. Yes, I am bragging about this. I was not always this together. Well, if you want to know the truth, it's actually a facade. I just enjoy shopping. I have 50% of my Christmas shopping already finished. I have even bought my Christmas cards. I just like having stress-free holidays and drinking hot chocolate while people are making mad-dashes into the mall with 34,287 other people trying to buy a polo shirt or slippers.

Anyway, my mother-in-law is taking our new saying to quite the extreme. However, we are all benefiting from it and we are NOT complaining!

It all started when I wanted to make Beef Bourguignonne for a dinner party of 8 for Saturday night. That is going to be a blog post all on it's own......anyway, I told her that do not have a dutch oven and that I would be purchasing the Paula Deen version down at the local Wal-Mart. Donna said, absolutely not. This will be your Christmas gift........"pick out the color you want from Le Cresuet and email it to me."

Uhhhh.....SURE!!! I got right on that one. It's not everyday that some offers to buy you Le Cresuet!!

Ummm...hello, Meg-o didn't realize they START at $200!! I was so thinking $100!! Not quite!

Well, after the picking my jaw up off the floor, I decided there is NO way that I am going to let D buy this for me. So, I quickly found the Martha Stewart version from Macy's. Lovely. I just love Martha. Her dutch oven was only $60. Martha has come down on her prices since she's out of jail and no longer has legal fees! Goooo Martha!!

So, I emailed this one to D and told her that I would like the Martha Stewart dutch oven.

Well, it wasn't 10 minutes and D called. She was calling to inform me that she did not buy me the Martha pot and that she has already ordered my Le Cresuet......and Merry Christmas!!

I am getting the Cadallic of all dutch ovens!

Just in case H is reading this and is confused......I'm getting the Brett Farve of dutch ovens except my pot will never be retired into the cabinet, and then brought out of the cabinet and then back in and then back out! Maybe Brett wasn't the greatest example! :)

HELLO!! How lucky and I??? Can we all sing Jingle Bells in unison??

Now....I must perfect my Beef Bourguignonne!
