Blogging.

How ironic is it that right now while I have the time to blog, I have nothing blog worthy to share?

I'm sitting in Starbucks right now......alone....with my computer....and I have nothing to say.

All I can think about are the stupid "red" cups that er'body made such a fuss over back in October.

Apparently people everywhere have too much time on their hands.

Y'all, when did people become so dumb?

Meanwhile, we have real world problems like sick babies, and poverty and divorce and the wrong people meeting Jesus too soon.
A lot of things on the intranet do not even warrant a response.

To prevent me from standing on my soapbox for longer than I should, I'm just gonna move on.

So- moving on.....

Can we talk about Adele and the AMAZE performance she did on NBC?! Umm....HELLO....amaze

I may have tried to buy tickets on the intranet for her show in Dallas next November. I'm sad to report, I didn't have luck.

Sooo so sad for me. What are the odds that when I have H's blessing for a concert, I can't even buy tickets.

Little Oscar Mayer the Weenie dog has been feeing bad lately. Apparently, he has a bad back. Because I allow my mind to automatically go to the worse possible place, I asked our (very patient with me) vet if Oscar will need a wheelchair or if he needs to be put down. I'm happy to report, he doesn't need either. I did in fact tell our vet to go easy on our bill because it's Decemebr and Santa isn't cheap! Having 2 kids of his own, I think he heard me loud and clear. I hope. Big gulp.

Totally wished Starbucks gave free refills right now.

I woke up this morning wanting pancakes....so I ordered these:

At the risk of sounding like a diva....they were tough. So tough I had to cut them with a knife.

Let's analyze this for a moment: I had to cut flour with a knife.

To cancel my diva status, the Vermont syrp was really good and I may have packed the extra bottle in my suitcase like a maw maw.

My little vacay is about to come to an end.....and then I put back on my mommy hat which is a ball cap and ponytail. Let's be real.

Mommy time outs are CRAZY WONDERFUL.......but I miss my little buddy and can't wait to hug and squeeze his little cheeks (both booty and face).

See ya next time Dallas. More than likely with my monkey man again.

Round 2: Dallas, Day 5

Y'all.

At times, I think events happen in my life just so blog posts can be written.

There are somethings that you just can't make up.

Today was pumpkin patch day. So, Katie and I loaded up our pumpkins and drove an hour to the patch.

To speed this up and keep your attention, long story short, I got the rental car stuck in the mud.

Because Katie and I know what to do in a moment of crisis, we called up the Pumpkin Patch and asked them to send their "manliest" men to come and help us out.

Once our knights in overalls literally pushed the rental out of the mud we had the perfect day.

"Hey Jax, sit right here on the hay for Mama."

Dallas did us good, but we were ready to be home.
Thankgoodness, little buddy is a great traveler and slept, snacked and watched "moo bees" on our ride home.

We stopped long enough to change a diaper, drive through Chick-fil-A and get back on course. Thank the Lard for an iPod and a rental car that you can allow your child to eat in. For the blog record, little Buddy is only allowed water in my car.

The drive home was smooth sailing, but the drive from Jackson to our driveway seemed like 298, 3976 miles.  I was thrilled to see our hood and the 1,000 kids in it Trick-or-Treating.

Round 2: Dallas, Day 4

Day 4 about did me in with the exercises.

I think I burned more calories than I took in.

Today was the day I realized, I'm a 100% boy mom.
Today, I was in my child's element.

Dinosaurs and the great outdoors.

BFF Katie located a natural woods sanctuary that had a dinosaur exhibit. My child was in heaven. Granted, the sanctuary pretty much looked like Greene County. I kept thinking my dad and brother would have a shooting blind popped up in a minute in this place.

The dinosaurs would move and make noises which was comical to my big buddy. I have a video of him literally laughing at a dinosaur "growling." Do they growl?? What do they really do??

Because best frands need matching shirts! Clearly Jax is thrilled about this!
Auntie Katie is the best and she provided our picnic lunch. When you are living in an 800 square foot home with no groceries, you rely on your frand.

This was probably one of Jax's favorite days. He got to run free and enjoy the weather with a Sonic "nack" afterwards.

After we recharged our batteries, the mama's hit up Ann Taylor. Because all stay at home moms need career clothes. We just can't stop it.

We dined at Blue Masa for dinner. Essentially, it's a swanky mexican restaurant that is good. Jax wasn't impressed with his tacos, but, don't take culinary advice from a 1 year old. This is the same little dud that is temped by dog food everyday.

Day 1

Day 2

Day 3
Just in case you need a recap.

Round 2: Dallas Day 3

This trip has been the best and most relaxing.

Day 3 was our easy button day!

We picked up Auntie Katie, ate lunch then went to the kids play museum and Jax played until he cried. Literally.

He was sooo sleepy and slept in the car on our way back "home." Because our rental didn't have XM radio (first world probs) I found a classical radio station and drove in 8 lanes of Dallas traffic with ease. And white knuckles. And a lump on my throat.

Jax played hard at the Play Street Museum, which is essentially heaven for a mama. There is a Starbucks in their parking lot and plenty of seating in the museum for mamas to sit and sip while watching their kids run around like wild banshees! The museum is the Restoration Hardware Kids and Pottery Kids toys catalog with organic snacks. Heaven on earth with a latte in hand.

Again, today was our easy button.......which was great! Every vacay needs an easy day while single parenting it.

When we arrived back "home", sweet buddy wanted a "nack" and wanted to be lazy bones. Fine by this mama!

In case you need Day 1 or Day 2.

Round 2: Dallas Day 2

Before we left our 800 square foot 'home away from home'........Jax and I had a little meeting.

Mama needed to set the ground rules.
The sweet child listened.

Rule #1: If you want to see the 'Moo-Moo's", you have to listen to mama and follow directions.

Rule #2: Don't whine. If mama can't WINE, you can't WHINE. Kapish!

Rule #3: Don't bite Greyson.

Well, this isn't looking good.

At the petting zoo, there were no cows. Only goats, sheep and a weird looking chicken.

Obviously my child didn't know what to think about this discovery.

His personality makes me laugh out loud everyday! He laughs hard, dances like his dad, talks as much as his mom and wants to be in the middle of the party.

The Dallas Arboretum was gorgeous! My child thought all of the pumpkins were placed there for him! He needed to inspect each of them....then try to carry them around.

Pure sweetness! I hope these little boys are as good friends as their mamas are!

At the risk of sounding like a maw-maw, the weather was perfect.
It was so perfect we ordered grilled cheese sandwiches (with bacon) and picnicked on a park bench.

I'm forever grateful of the memories that we are making while crashing business trips with H.

This may be the photo I chose for some family Thanksgiving Cards:

Round 2: Dallas, Day 1

Be careful what you say, because it can back fire in a minute when you have a baby.

Me and H: Oh, sweet Jaxon was an angel baby on the 7 + hour car ride to Dallas.

Me and H at dinner: silence

Do you know why it was silence? It's because I was outside with a toddler explaining to him that he was being bad and it was hurting mommy's feelings.

He was so bad that we ordered our dessert to go.
I wasn't going to let a toddler ruin my chocolate mouse cheesecake.

For crying out loud (literally), give mama a moment and a slice of cake. GEEZ!

Seriously though, the car ride was great! This was our 2nd trip to Dallas and Big Buddy slept from Vicksburg, MS to Shreveport, LA. From our home to Vicksburg, he watched movies and from Shreveport to Dallas he ate snacks and watched movies.

When we arrived at dinner, someone took over my child's body and mind and reminded us it was Halloween week! There was a moment where I gazed into my hot husband's eyes and said: I don't know if I should cry, cuss, drink or smoke- my nerves are that shot.
I'm happy to report, the Lard took over and calmed my nerves and gave me a moment of clarity to simply order cheesecake.

Day 1 is done. Amen and amen. And lets pause and thank the Lard for chocolate.
